Being a community manager is by far a unique opportunity– you get to know members on a personal level, discuss about possible new ideas for the site, and think of the most engaging activities to keep the community fun. It’s probably one of the most awesome jobs one can ever have (hands down). The site has been doing phenomenally well in terms of registrations and that only means the community is getting bigger. As the user base increases in size, it was inevitable we needed to hire a secondary person to help manage the community on eHow.
That being said <drum roll please>, we love to introduce you Julie, who will be our new community extraordinaire. Julie joined eHow in June 2007 doing legal work, but later on decided– as she stated from her own mouth—“she wanted to join the cool kids” and be part of the marketing and community family. She has her BA from University of California, Berkley and an MA from University College London. In her spare time, she enjoys involving herself in anything fashion, international politics, and DIY related. We can’t forget to mention that she is a self proclaimed web junkie as well, who avidly surfs the net and read various blogs.
Julie has been kind enough to give us some photos to post up on this blog entry and the montage you see at the top is a 3 week summary of her life. Feel free to give Julie a warm welcome. The community will be seeing more of her on the site in coming weeks, so don’t hesitate to say “hi” to her.
